Here for sale is a sought-after 1920s Vega Style M in very good playable condition. (Serial No. 71822). This fine 17-fret tenor banjo features an 11" Maple rim with 28 brackets, Maple "Pie" resonator with tortoise bindings, a dark Ebony fingerboard with decorative abalone inlay, decorative "torch"headstock inlay, and a quality tubaphone tone ring.

The instrument appears all-original with the exception of a recent installation of new Waverly tuners, a new armrest and a new "fiberskyn" head. The scale is 21.25" and the nut width is 1-1/8".

Other than some minor tarnish and dings as would be expected of a vintage banjo, this lovely old Vega it pretty untouched. The neck is straight and the action is comfortable (about 3mm at the 12th fret) with a low bridge. It is currently set up for "Irish Tenor" with thicker strings at lower tension for E, A, D, G tuning but could easily be restrung for standard tuning.

The banjo comes with what appears to be its original case, which shows some signs of age but has been repaired andpartially refurbished andis in good serviceable condition.
