Return Policy

We like to be as helpful and accommodating as possible to ensure that every customer has the best possible experience when ordering from Jakes Main Street Music. To that end, we would like to clearly outline how our return policy works. We have a Satisfaction Guarantee. If you are not happy with your product during the initial return period for any reason, just return it to Jakes Main Street Music for a refund or exchange. For full details, please see below.

New products and instruments must be in undamaged and in original packaging, with all included accessories, manuals and warranty cards. Used products must be in same condition as sold with all included accessories, manuals and warranty cards. If there is a conflict in the return periods stated below, the lesser period applies. If you are eligible for a full refund, it will be in the form of original payment or Store Credit with required proof of purchase. If proof of purchase cannot be produced, we may issue a full or partial refund in the form of Store Credit at our sole discretion. Buyer accepts responsibility for all return shipping costs, including full insurance coverage, which shall be deducted from any refund given, except in cases where the product is found to be defective, decided at our sole discretion. Must include proof of purchase in return package to be eligible for refund. May be subject to a 15% restocking fee.

Return Periods

  • 14 Days from purchase or confirmed delivery:
    • All New Instruments
    • Unopened and Unused Wind Instruments
    • Unopened packs of Strings
    • New Amplifiers, Speakers and other Audio Equipment 
    • Other new and unopened merchandise
  • 7 Days from purchase or confirmed delivery:
    • All Used instruments
    • Used Amplifiers, Speakers and other Audio Equipment 
    • New and unused Clothing
  • Not Eligible for Return (Exempt from return policies)
    • Custom Orders
    • Wind instruments that have been open, including Wind instruments purchased without packaging.
    • Strings that have been opened from original packaging cannot be returned. String singles cannot be returned.
    • Used or Washed clothing items.
    • New and Used Media, including but not limited to vinyl records, CDs, VHS cassettes, tapes, DVDs, Blu-Ray discs, books and digital access codes.
    • All Software and Digital Access Codes
    • ANY items that include Software, Digital Access Codes, or any other additional media
    • Edible Items

Warranty Policy

The warranty of any product we sell takes effect on the date of original purchase. During the initial return period of any product, as defined above, you may return the defective product to us directly for warranty repair or replacement. After the initial return period, the warranty of the product, as outlined by the manufacturer, is between the purchaser and the manufacturer, and as such we are unable to fulfill the warranty in their stead, unless requested directly by the manufacturer to fulfill their warranty repairs. We can, however, help you through the warranty process for any brand that we carry. As official dealers, we are familiar with the warranty policies of our products and are well situated to help you through the process.

We HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you register your product (when applicable) with the manufacturer as soon as you receive it to make sure you are eligible for your full warranty benefits. Many instruments will usually come with some form of warranty or registration card that you can fill out and send to the manufacturer to complete this process. If not, you can usually contact the manufacturer directly to find out what steps you can take to make sure your warranty is valid.
