Its only fitting that our brick and mortar shop here in Beacon carry an authentic Pete Seeger model longneck straight out of the 1960's. like all Seeger models This one features famous Tub-a-phone tone ring. although this is missing the standard yellow interior tag. We believe this was made between 1962 and 1969 given that it has a two metal coordinator rod interior design with four hex heel adjustment screws and 24 brackets. These banjos had come to be iconic not only of Mr. Seeger but of the folk boom of the 60's and 70's and of other well known folk groups such as the Kingston Trio etc. This one is in very good vintage condition with only a few marks and dings from age. The neck is straight and the action is low and comfortable and the tone is crisp and clear with plenty of extra punch when needed. This instrument appears to be all original including the original Waverly tuners. Those around Beacon where are store is located all knew Pete Seeger well and a banjo such as this holds great memories. Comes with its original hard case.
