William o. Schmick made his Lryic model banjos out of Camden, NJ in the 1920s sourcing parts from other well known makers such as Vega. This tenor banjo has Schmick's unique pot design that he patented in 1916 and which probably inspired the Vega-Vox tenors of the 1960s that has a similar construction. The comfortable neck was likely constructed by Vega. This banjo is in very good vintage playing condition with low comfortable action and a nice tone that is warmer and fuller than many other tenor banjos. Comes with what may be it's original hard case, also in good condition with all latches working.
