We offer this lovely and somewhat rare Michael Ramsey 6-string banjo.  Mike was an extremely well-respected builder who started building in Ohio around 1986 and then moved to Appomattox VA and later to Chapel Hill NC.  He was friends with the famous builder Bart Reiter and was known for reasonably priced banjos of high quality, but some of his custom models such as this banjo was very ornate. Mike passed away in 2021 and the records are not readily available, but the serial number of 1793 suggests it was built around 2014.  It is in very good playing condition.  To be clear, this is not a "guitar-banjo" but a 5-string style instrument with one extra low string that is typically tuned a 4th or an octave down from the standard 4th string. This instrument is in excellent playing condition with no significant marks or blemishes.  It is set up well with comfortable action and has a clear defined tone.  Comes with top-quality "armitage" style flight case.
