Joe Mendel and Mendel’s Fretted Instruments

Joe Mendel has been building and repairing instruments for three decades, in the St. Louis, MO region. Possessing great respect for tradition, an eye to the future, a willingness to try alternative woods and materials, a keen eye and ear for pleasing wood combinations, Joe is crafting instruments that combine excellent sound and playability with simple elegance.  His banjos have garnered much praise and found him being selected for juried showcases such as the Woodstock Luthier's Convention where he has appeared for the past several; years.

This lovely, lightly used Maple version of his 12" pot banjo is in excellent condition with a lovely red-brown stain, dark Ebony fretboard with scoop, black knob planetary tuners, Rosewood neck stripes and Rosewood pot binding, 26 brackets, and a Remo fiberskyn head for old-time tone.  The neck is straight and the action comfortable and perfect for clawhammer playing.

Scale length 25 1/2", Nut width 1 3/8"

Comes with black hard shell Superior case.
