This vintage ladder-braced classic rings beautifully and better yet it plays just as it should after receiving the appropriate amount of love from our luthier . Recent repairs included gluing and reinforcing some back cracks, gluing a few top cracks, bridge-glue, fret level and crown, as well as a neck reset and full setup. Everything that was needed has been done and it plays perfectly and rings with the kind of clarity that 1950s Gibsons are known for. (The FON Number V4857-18 dates it to 1956). The guitar appears to be all original including the rectangular wooden bridge, pick-guard and tuners, and the finish is all-original except for the back which received some overspray when the cracks were repaired. The guitar has plenty of minor finish wear, small dings and marks and finish crazing as would be expected of an old Gibson but this just adds to the great vintage vibe. Best yet, the combination of a comfortable "C" neck profile, easy playability and pleasing tone make this guitar a special find. (After we strummed it, we almost didn't list it for sale). Comes with modern hard case.
