The Sierra model has been Deering's flagship resonator banjo ever since Greg Deering began building them almost three decades ago. This truly professional grade instrument features 3-ply Maple rim, Deering's -06- tone ring, one piece zinc flange, and notched tension hoop. It has the weight and feel of many highly expensive banjos at a more affordable price, and most importantly, it has that clear crisp tone that bluegrass players are seeking. Over the years, Deering began including fancy inlay in the Sierra fingerboards, but this one from 1997 is one of the more simply adorned original models with dot inlay. The banjo is in very good playing condition with no major dings or marks but there is some tarnish on the armrest and metal parts as might be expected. Overall, it remains very attractive and it is nicely set up and stage ready. Comes with its original hard case in good condition with the original warranty card still inside.
