We offer this very fine Guild USA-made jumbo-sized F-40E featuring a solid Sitka Spruce top and solid African Mahogany back and sides. Its predecessor, the F-48 was only produced from 1972 to 1976 and are hard to find. Guild's recent reissue has a similar vintage look with tortoiseshell pickguard, white body bindings, and Guild peak logo inlaid on the headstock. Other features include Rosewood bridge and fingerboard, 20:1 open-gear tuners, and a hand-cut bone nut and saddle and a satin varnish finish.
This guitar is in near mint condition with very little fret wear, and it plays great with a full resonant tone, with plenty of bass response but also nicely clear mids and highs. The neck is straight with no issues and it has low comfortable action with plenty of room for future adjustment at the saddle. It is equipped with an LR Baggs Element VTC pickup so the guitar is also great for stage work.
Comes with its original Guild arch-top wood case with built-in humidifier,
