C.F. Martin & Company, often referred to as Martin, is an American guitar manufacturer established in 1833 by Christian Frederick Martin. The company was founded in New York City, where it was based for six years before relocating to Nazareth, Pennsylvania in the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania in 1839. It is highly respected for its acoustic guitars and is a manufacturer of flat top guitars and ukuleles.
