We offer this lovely S.S. Stewart from the 1890s in very good playing condition. S. S. Stewart built a relatively small number of these "Special Banjo" models in the 1890s. It has a approximate 10-3/4" pot and 26" scale length. This one appears all-original except the skin head was replaced at some point with another very nice even-colored skin head. There are beautiful adornments including moon and start neck inlays and a matching headstock pattern. The instrument is in very good physical condition with relatively few marks or dings and just some expected tarnish of metal parts. The original friction tuners are holding pitch and It is set up nicely with comfortable action and is currently strung with Nylgut strings. Comes with a modern gig bag for protection.
