We offer this really wonderful Gibson Mastertone conversion banjo with great feel and tone. After evaluating its characteristics including a single row of binding on a Mahogany resonator, the archtop tone ring, the factory order number (FON) 8204-38 and the grooved tension hoop etc., we have concluded that this is a 5-string conversion of a 1920s Gibson TB-3 tenor banjo.  The conversion was done very nicely with the famous  "flying eagle" inlay pattern and a nicely fit and smooth playing neck.  The instrument has been professionally set up with polished frets and low comfortable bluegrass action and it is stage ready and waiting for its next appreciative owner. There There is some belt rsh on the Resonator and other minor marks from age but the banjo is still highly attractive. And for those in the know about these things, the archtop tone ring does not have bearings and springs, but it does not need them - the tone is excellent! Comes with a hard shell case in good condition with all latches working.
