The open-back Boston model is a fairly rare Deering instrument. It is basically the same as the more common resonator version of the Boston model but ordered specifically to be made without the resonator, leaving it with the standard 11" all-steel pot for clarity and projection but without the bulky feel of a resonator instrument. This banjo is in excellent playing condition with good head tension and comfortable action. The steel pot gives it some additional weight but also provides strong volume and clarity. Comes with a Deering/Vega branded hard case also in excellent condition.
