Many people in violin circles know R. J. Storm as a renowned maker and restorer.  His violins are played by national artists such as Jason carter of the Del Mccoury band and his articles on construction and restoration can be seen regularly in Fiddler Magazine.  His hand-made instruments are expensive and sought after by many gifted players. What some do not know, is that R. J.  Storm has been a teacher and mentor to many other fine violin makers, or that many years ago, he traveled to China and taught violin making at the Conservatory in Beijing.

Several years ago, Mr. Storm returned to China after some of his former students had gone into business for themselves and he shared with them the finer points of constructing and graduating their violins to his exacting standards.  The result is the R. J. Storm Superior Symphony Standard 4/4 Violin Outfit.  With straight-grained Spruce sourced from Eastern Europe, highly flamed Maple harvested in mountains of Russia  and fine black Ebony from India, the initial construction is by Mr. Storm's former students in China with final inspection and set-up with top quality Dominant strings performed by R. J. himself at his private workshop in New York State.

Put simply, these violins are the best quality instruments that can be found at this price.  Complete as an outfit, with a fully lined Brazilwood bow, rectangular case with built-in humidifier and fresh rosin, the R. J. Storm Superior Symphony Standard is ready for the aspiring student and professional alike.  Come try one here at the store, and you will be pleasantly surprised by the look, feel, and tone. As R. J. Storm likes to put it, these are "fine world resourced violins without the big arrogance...or the big price." He stands behind that, and even puts it on the label.

(Note:  The pictures here are an exemplar, but all Superior Symphony Standard violins will have similar Spruce and flamed Maple.)
