Here for sale we have a lovely old Vega Tenor banjo. This one which they called the Little Wonder came in both 11 inch and 12 inch pots with the 12" being a little more scarce and sought after. The one listed here features the 12" pot, with a nice old skin head still holding tension. 30 brackets surround the pot and a slight arch to the top is provided by a rare adjustable metal arch insert in the back- see pictures. Serial Number 58732 dates this banjo to 1923. This Instrument is in very good playing condition with only minor marks and dings from time and use and one very small missing piece of neck binding pictured on the under side where the neck meets the rim. The neck is straight and the action is appropriate and comfortable and tone is clear and lovely. The entire instrument appears all original with the exception of a few bracket nuts have been replaced and the original friction tuners have been professionally replaced with modern geared planetary tuners. Comes with original hard shell case in worn but serviceable condition.
