We had to send photos and correspond with National Guitars in California and consult a current National historian to verify the year this guitar was made. It turns out to be a 1934 although the entire neck and the tailpiece are all extremely well-done replacements. The result is a really cool looking old guitar that plays much like a new one but retains its vintage vibe and tone. The body of the guitar is solid with no significant dents or separations but there are many small marks/dings and a significant amount of tarnish and discoloration from time and use, but we think that just adds to it's vintage. The action is set just right at the sweet spot where it can accommodate both slide and finger-style players.
Comes with a modern hard case in good condition.
