Michael Dunn gypsy jazz guitar Bellville Series (2002)
This is a very lovely hand-built Michael Dunn Gypsy Jazz guitar. Michael Dunn is a well-respected Canadian luthier following and innovating the designs of Mario Maccaferrri. Dunn has been making guitars since the 1960's and has over 500 instruments to his credit made for players in Django Reinhardt gypsy Jazz tradition. Based on features such as the Cedar top and small oval sound hole, we believe this to be a model in his ''Bellville'' series., but unlike some others, it has flamed Maple sides and back and a slotted headstock. This instrument is in very good condition with a straight neck and comfortable action. There is one slightly darkened line near the lower bout which we believe to be merely a characteristic of the wood that the luthier chose to leave in (see photos). As an added bonus, it comes with top-quality Calton case. These cases often cost up to $1000 making this an even greater deal.
