This is a really fine example of Martin's great workmanship in the 1960s.  This lovely Slope shoulder D-18S is a 12-fret style guitar with a slotted head stock (Serial Number 241723) that somehow managed to go from 1968 to now relatively unscathed with no cracks and only minor marks and dings to show for its age. The neck is straight and the action is comfortable and very playable. Best of all, this is one of those great old guitars that weighs very little but emanates a lot of sound. With the classic 12-fret tone, this guitar is a true "cannon" that would enable any bluegrass player to keep up with the banjo and fiddle nearby, yet it has a sweetness that would please many finger style players as well.  One of the best examples of this guitar we've seen.  Comes with an older black hard-shell case that was probably paired with this guitar for a very long time. (Case in good condition but one latch is loose.)
