Martin D-18S 12-Fret Slothead Guitar (1967)
The D-18S is a fairly rare find these days having been made mostly from 1967 to 1994. Here for sale is a lovely Martin D-18 12-fret slothead acoustic guitar from the very first year of production. With it's 1 7/8" nut width and comfortable 25.4" scale, these 12-fret sloped dreadnaught guitars are a fingerpicker's delight - comfortable to play and full of warm clear tone. The instrument is of course made of solid Mahogany sides and back and a solid Spruce top along with Brazilian Rosewood fretboard, bridge and headstock overlay. The unusual 12-fret arrangement and wider string spacing complement these quality materials giving the player less string tension and more room for accuracy.
This guitar is in very good condition, with only the typical minor scratches and dings and finish crazing expected of an older instrument and a few professionally repaired minor back cracks. The neck is straight and the action is comfortable. It comes with a hard shell case.
