Here for sale is a beautiful 1995 Martin 000-16 guitar. This model has all the benefits of a 000-18 at a much lower price. 1995 was the year Martin switched its design from the traditional dovetail neck joint construction to a more basic bolted mortise-and-tenon design called the 000-16T. We have examined this guitar and there is noblock plate as would cover the bolt and it is designated as 000-16, not 16T. We therefore believe this mid-1995 guitar was one ofthe last of a small number of 16's built in the mid-1990's with the traditional Martin dovetail neck joint, and 1/4" scalloped top bracing. This guitar has a lovely warm resonance provided by a Solid spruce top and solid Mahogany back and sides The solid Mahogany neck is 1 11/16" at the nut, and the scale length is 25.4". There is a beautiful genuine Rosewood headplate, Rosewood fingerboard with attractive diamonds and squares inlay and a Rosewood bridge. In some ways, this guitar is more similar to older vintage models than it is to the models Martin redesigned in 1995 and after aimed at lowering costs. The guitar is in excellent condition with only a few very small dings and marks in the matte finish as would be expected. There are no cracks whatsoeverand the guitar appears all original with no repairs or alterations. The neck is straight and the action very comfortable. All-in-all, a really nice vintage guitar at a modest price. Comes with a hard case.
