Kaycee Hollow-Body Electric Japan 1960s/70s
This appears to be a rare guitar as we have seen only one other example of it on the net. Our research shows that Kaycee branded guitars were made back in the day for a distributer known as Kansas City Music Services Wholesaler. There is internet speculation that they were made by Yamaha or Teisco or Kawaii, but no one seems to know for sure. In any event, this one appears to be all original and all the electronics work. There are two single coil pickups each with an activation switch and a global volume and tone controls. The labels have long fallen off this instrument but the metal plate at the headstock says "Adjustable Rod." The guitar is in good playing condition with a straight neck and appropriate action. There is an expected amount of minor scratches and dings and some wear marks at the bottom side of the lower bout, and some tarnish, especially on the plate that surrounds the controls, but considering its 50 years, it is holding up remarkably well. Added bonus, it comes with its original black chipboard case in useable condition.
