Gibson "Pete Townsend" SG (2001)
This guitar is from Gibson's Nashville factory in 2001 and was part of a short production run to satisfy additional demand for the Pete Townsend Special SG that had been originally released the year before. These Townsend SG's were designed as reproductions of the original SG that Townsend had used on stage at Woodstock and on the famous Live at Leeds album.
The body and neck of the Pete Townshend SG are made of one piece mahogany. The guitar also features a compensated tailpiece, original black Gibson P-90 pickups, chrome hardware, Grover tuners, cream binding on fingerboard with dot inlay and the body is finished in Gibson's classic heritage cherry. The bound Mahogany neck has a Rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot position markers. The headstock of the guitar has a "Pete Townshend" signature decal on the back of the headstock.
This is a great sounding and extremely comfortable playing guitar. It is in very good condition with minimal marks/crazing. There is one well-repaired headstock crack that is solid and hard to detect. The guitar comes with it's original Gibson vintage-style moulded hard case also very good condition.
