Gibson J-200 1973
Vintage Gibson J-200 with solid Spruce top and solid Maple back and sides. Three piece back with marquetry dividers, white binding, crown neck inlay, black headstock with pearl logo and gold plated Grover tuners. This instrument is in very good playable condition but it does have the nicks, scratches, dings and pick-marks that would be expected of a 1970s vintage instrument. The neck has a small amount of undulation but every note plays well and true. the tone is warm and Gibson-like. The instrument appears all-original except the bridge which has been replaced with a plain Rosewood bridge. The original decorative Gibson bridge is in the case but needs repair. The action is comfortable and playable, very low near the top nut and rising to about 3mm at the 12th fret. We have been told that the instrument was previously owned by Tony Wilson of Hot Chocolate and that he allegedly wrote the hit song "You Sexy Thing" on this guitar.
Comes with an older hard shell case.
