This nice old German violin shows nice flaming on the Maple sides and back and has a clear resonant tone. Recently put back into playing shape by well-known violin maker and restorer R.J. storm (see his columns in Fiddler Magazine) recent work included cleaning and polishing and minor repairs, new Ebony pegs, new sound post (from century-old spruce stock), new hand-carved Maple bridge, freshly planed fingerboard, new Ebony top nut, new quality Hellicore strings, new Whittner modern tailpiece with built-in adjustable fine tuners and a new Ebony Guarneri style chin rest. This violin is in very good playing condition with only minor marks and wear from use as would be expected of a century old instrument and is now ready for a concert stage with good action, tone and playability. It comes with its original vintage case in serviceable condition and a modern Brazilwood bow.
