Tom Fellenbaum is a well-respected maker of mountain dulcimers from Black Mountain, North Carolina. This lovely old dulcimer was made in July 1989 and is numbered #665. it appears to be made of all solid woods including a Spruce top and a flamed Maple back. The sides and scroll appear to be made of Rosewood. Geared planetary tuning machines and bone nut and saddle round out this quality instrument. This dulcimer is in very good playing condition wit lovely tone and comfortable low action. There is some bubbling and discoloration of a small area of the finish on the back which can be seen in the photos and there is some corrosion on the washers at the tuning machines but this does not affect the functioning of the tuners whatsoever and all work very well. Unfortunately we do not have a case to this instrument but we will ship it carefully packed in bubble wrap or other suitable padding so that it can travel well protected to its next owner.
