David Flaming Model SA-45 Archtop Guitar w/pickup c. 2005
Fine craftsmanship and pure sound are the earmarks of this top-quality hand-made archtop guitar by David Flamming of Greene Iowa. Flammang started out in the art of cabinetry in the 1990s where he learned to do exacting work and then moved on to lutherie. He now makes a wide array of models (see flammangguitars.com).
This lovely archtop of all-solid construction features a lovely sunburst carved solid Spruce top and solid and flamed Maple sides and back, Maple neck, black Ebony fingerboard, white body and neck bindings and a single neck pickup to give that smooth electric sound for which arch-tops are known. This guitar is in excellent condition with a straight neck and comfortable action. There is one well-repaired top crack near the upper C-bout (non structural) and a very small amount of minor scratches or wear marks, almost unnoticeable, as would be expected of a well kept used instrument. As an added bonus, it comes with a top notch hard plastic moulded case.
