Bird's-eye Maple Pot Tenor Banjo c. 1926
We don't know the maker of this instrument but it is a nice quality vintage Tenor banjo featuring a Bird's-eye Maple pot, a Maple three-piece neck with Rosewood fretboard and a star & oon pearl inlay at the fiddle-shaped headstock. What is interesting is that this is an arch-top design with the rise in the head accomplished by a novel construction with an inner metal hoop supported by adjustable screws (see photos). This banjo is in good vintage playable condition with a straight neck, low-comfortable action and a really nice sweet old tone.
