This is a lovely old violin made by "REX" in Markneurkurchen Germany c. 1890 in there well-known "Miginni" style which includes double purling and a double spiral scroll. It is in very good condition for a true vintage instrument with just the normal expected dings and one or two very small cracks (all expertly repaired). The solid Spruce top has an attractive dark brown luster and the solid Maple back and sides are highly flamed. This violin has been professionally restored by renowned violin maker Rafael Storm who rergraduated the top and installed a modern strength bass bar, new Ebony fingerboard and pegs. With lovely feel and tone, this instrument is ready to give its next player years of enjoyment.

Currently strung with Helicore steel-core strings. This instrument will be sent in a modern poly-foam case for protection.

Note: Rafael storm apprenticed with New York's finest restorer Carlos Archieri where he was exposed to the finest violins including Straduari, Guarneru and Amati. He later built one of Pete Seeger's touring banjo as well as a touring violin for Jason Carter of the Del McCoury band who later endorced Rafael on their CD liner notes.
