We offer this vintage Gibson A-style mandolin from the golden era of Gibson production.  It features a carved solid Spruce top with white binding and a 2 1/2" oval sound hole, a floating Ebony bridge and a "The Gibson" logo tailpiece.  We believe the sides and back are likely to be Birch and the neck Mahogany.

Make no mistake, this is a player's and not a collector's instrument with plenty of marks, scratches and dings and there is a repaired back crack, a few repaired side cracks and several repaired top cracks.  These repairs were done solidly but are visible with some glue marks showing and much of the shine is off the original finish from wear and repair.  That said, this instrument is now physically healthy and very playable with comfortable action and room at the bridge slots for further lowering of the action if desired.

The icing on the cake is that is exudes a really sweet vintage tone with lots of both warmth and clarity. It also comes with what we believe to be its original brown cloth covered rear-entry chipboard case with the latch still intact.
