Vintage Martin D-18 Shade Top SN. 382186
This guitar has seen a lot of wear through the years. When we see a instrument like this, we know it's because someone really played and loved it. And with good reason - this D-18 has great tone. The 1970's were a up and down era for Martin Guitar Company but they must have done something really right when they made this particular one. That being said it has been through the mill and back. It has several repaired cracks in the back more in the sides and there are nicks and mars just about everywhere and the classic repaired top crack near the pick guard. That all being said, everything has been repaired so there is no need to address any of the past issues at this point. All this guitar needs right now is someone to play it. Another cool feature which happens to be a rare thing for Martin in general is it has a shaded top which are few and far between especially from the 70's. Other things that have been done is a new pick guard installed new cream button vintage style tuners installed though the original Grover's remain in case. We also took the liberty of setting up the action to 2.8mm at the 12th fret and polishing and leveling frets so this instrument is ready to go. It is currently strung with custom light strings .11-.52. Comes with newer hard shell case.
