This is one of the more amazing Fender Telecasters we have come across with a unique set of mods that many players will love. According to our consignor, it started out as a teal green Fender "Telecaster in about 1998. He bought it new at a small music store and got a slightly reduced price because it has been scratched. When he brought it to his guitar tech to have the scratch addressed, he decided to do major modifications to customize the instrument. These included:

- Refinishing the guitar in a "lake placid" blue.

- Substituting a white "ivoroid" body binding and matching pick guard.

- Changing the pickups to Seymour Duncan Alnico ii Pros.

- Swapping out the neck for another genuine Fender neck that had superior finish  and feel.

- Installing a Bigsby tremolo tailpiece behind the bridge.

According to the original 1999 receipt, the guitar was an "AM DLX (American Deluxe) Tele MN" Serial No. DN807010, Teal Green with Ash Body" however, based on the features such as the three pickup configuration, the body bindings the tummy cutout in the back and the additional mini pickup toggle, the guitar is likely a "Telecaster Plus Version ii" which were made from 1995 to 1998 before being replaced by the American Deluxe model, or perhaps this guitar was a transitional model with features of both.

In any event, this is a rare model with the three single coil pickup "Nashville" style configuration and a  unique mini-toggle switch in-between the volume and tone knob that adds the neck and bridge pickups together in positions 1 and 5 (and allows you to get all 3 pickups on in positions 2 and 4) on the Strat-style 5-way switch. This little toggle really fattens up the tone nicely when desired. Add this to the Bigsby tremolo and you have a truly unique instrument.

This guitar is in excellent condition with no significant scratches or blemishes and plays like a dream with great action and feel and a beautiful tone from the Duncans with plenty of clarity without being brittle.  Basically, this is an amazing players guitar that happens to be in collector's condition.

It comes with a Brown Tolex hard rectangular Fender 1990s case with golden interior in good condition.
