We offer this very nice Vega Whyte Laydie tenor banjo from the 1920s (Serial No. 69733).  It is in very good playable condition with an attractive vintage patina to it and just a small amount of tarnish to metal parts as would be expected.  The skin head is taught and the 11 3/4" pot gives out tone that is both clear and lively.  The bound Maple neck and 17 fret Ebony fretboard are smooth and without cracks.  All four tuners appear to be original, but the 4th string tuner has an added piece which we believe increases friction for the tuner to operate properly.  The action has recently been lowered by filing the bridge so the instrument now has comfortable playable action. As an added bonus, it comes with it's original hard case, also in good serviceable vintage condition.
