Regal Tenor Banjo c. 1930 w/ Resonator and Marquetry
We've come upon a really nice old tenor banjo made by the Regal Company of Chicago, IL c. 1930. This one is a but nicer than many in that it has beautifully carves bracket shoes, probably nickel-silver, and inlaid marquetry on the side and back of the dark wood resonator, dot and diamond neck inlay and additional MOP inlay on the headstock. This banjo has 22 brackets on a 10 3/4" head and a Waverly style Tailpiece. The wood of the pot and resonator is stained a rich medium brown and is nicely flamed. The banjo appears all original except the tuning machines have been replaced with period style offset tuners which hold tune very well. The banjo has plenty of small marks/scratches/dings from age and use but it is still in remarkably good vintage condition, physically attractive, with a straight neck, nice low comfortable action and clear tone.
There is no case, but the banjo will be shipped in either a protective box or padded gig bag for protection.
