Here is a very special Martin 00-18 from a great era of Martin construction. The "00" size is large enough to have robust tone and small enough to be easy to handle. This guitar is no exception. The tone is full and resonant and warm with age and very pleasing overall. Even better, the action is low and comfortable making this a real player! Although someone has hand-written "Jan 1950" on the inside of the guitar, (which may have been the year the writer first purchased it), the serial number clearly places the construction at 1948. The guitar has seen some love and playing time, so there are some marks and scratches and a few small gauges in the pick-guard (see photos) but it remains very attractive in appearance and overall it is in remarkably good condition for a 74 year instrument. Most importantly, there appear to be no cracks anywhere in the wood so the instrument has good structural integrity. Made of solid Spruce and Mahogany, and full of vintage vibe, this lovely old Martin is a real find. Hard shell case in good condition included.
