Here is a lovely 1890s Luscomb open-back banjo in very good vintage condition. The instrument features an 11 3/4" skin head, 1 3/16 nut width and 26 1/2" scale. The neck is a lovely gentle "V" profile with a dark ebony fingerboard with dot abalone inlay. The classic Luscomb headstock has ebony friction tuners. The bell metal pot contains 26 brackets and a trademark Luscomb hardwood tone ring. It is currently strung with nylon strings and has recently been professionally setup and had a new (but very vintage looking) genuine skin head installed. The instrument appears all original except for the new skin head, one bracket, and two replaced ebony friction tuners. The action is comfortable and the neck is straight. The wooden dowel stick as with many Luscomb of the period is attached at the tail end with a metal bracket which allows for action adjustment via dowel shims. The instrument is in very good playable vintage condition, with the metal parts having the mild dulling and patina of the older Boston style instruments. This is basically a great banjo that is ready to give years of enjoyment to it's next player.

Comes with a chipboard case.
